The Eight Pronouns
Pronouns are words that replace nouns in a sentence. They help us avoid repetition and make our language more natural. For example, instead of saying "Mary went to the store, and Mary bought apples," we can say "Mary went to the store, and she bought apples." Here, "she" is a pronoun that replaces "Mary."
There are several types of pronouns, including personal pronouns (like I, you, he, she, it, we, they), possessive pronouns (mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, theirs), and reflexive pronouns (myself, yourself, himself).
Understanding pronouns is key to constructing clear and concise sentences in English. They are one of the eight parts of speech and are fundamental to mastering grammar.
